Markdown Mondays: Summer Transitional Pieces

Markdown Mondays Blog Post Shopping Discounts

Markdown-Mondays-081516It’s that “special” time in August when it’s still unbearably hot outside, but the mood and retail scene start to lean closer to Fall. I find that it’s important to have some transitional pieces in your wardrobe that can be perfect for this time so you can dress appropriately – and on point – for both the weather and the season.

In this week’s #MarkdownMondays, I have 5 dress options that can make the transition easy. From short to maxi, they are all light-weight yet classy, with just a touch more depth than the true summer pieces – a slightly more muted color, pattern and silhouette.

Check them out! My favorite is the Printemps Linen Shirt Dress (by HD in Paris) at Anthropologie. It’s featured in “raspberry” (pink), but also comes in “sky” (blue) and white. Perfect for the weather as linen is a natural fiber so it’s very breathable and light-weight, and for the office – with it’s almost to the knee length, shirt collar and waist-defining front tie.

I also found 2 great maxi options with the Striped Belted Shirt Maxi Dress from Banana Republic and the Lush High Neck Dress from Nordstrom with a vertical pattern that visually elongates and slims the figure.

The other 2 dresses featured are the Striped Tweed Sheath Dress from JCrew (great for the office – simple and classic) and the Belted Midi Dress from Ann Taylor that ties in the front with a gorgeous bow.

As always, to get more personalized styling tips and if you’d like to go Fall shopping together, please don’t hesitate to reach out to schedule your 1-on-1 Personal Shopping Session with me!
